What is love? Baby hear Bollywood songs!

What is love without running around trees and dancing?

Well, boring, bland and bakwaas.

The Indian Film Industry has such an impact on us that the moment we see 'that' someone special a number of songs begin to auto-play in our backgrounds, just like that! The theory is simple. With all the amazing songs being made and shot across humongous backgrounds with beautiful ladies and drop dead gorgeous men, how can you not be affected my child?

1. Tujhe dekha to ye jaana sanam: DDLJ

Find us an anthem better than this.

We bet you.

Kajol and SRK and those 'sarson ke khet'... ufff! Divinity!

2. Tu hi re: Bombay

Touching story, beautiful characters set on the backdrop of unsettling circumstances; Bombay was a lovely film to watch, adorned with lovely songs. But it was this song that stole our hearts. The magical Hariharan!

3. Ishq bina: Taal

A Subhash Ghai flick and no beautiful songs? Impossible. Watching ex Miss World Aishwarya Rai in a simple and beautiful avatar with the charming Akshaye Khanna was a pleasant surprise. What further delights is the magic created by Anuradha Sriram and Sonu Nigam’s voices.

4. Hum Tum: Hum Tum

Isn’t this song the perfect rendition of our dreams? Falling in love and imagining self and the crush in different scenarios? Saif Ali Khan looks lovable without any effort and Rani Mukerji is a treat to the eyes.

5. Aao na: Kyun Ho Gaya Na

Vivek Oberoi’s career must not have been a splendid one but his songs are. This rhythmic and soul touching songs brings the best of all: visuals, music, lyrics and voices!

6. Bol na halke halke: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

The movie was a bomb at box office which diminished its own fire. But this song! God! So much love.

7. My dil goes mmm: Salaam Namaste

This movie lead us to insights which the Indian audience were unaware of didn’t want to acknowledge. But it was well received and the songs were catchy. And it is a very frequent when you see him/her with that gorgeous smile and the ease they carry themselves with, their attitude.. Ohh.. then and there. My dil goes mmmmmmmm…

8. Kuch toh hua hai: Kal Ho Naa Ho

What is up with Saif and Preity? Such lovely songs they pair in. Flowers, glitter, stars, getting decked up, all is covered in the song. Javed Akhtar truly knows what love is!

9. Tere bina: Guru

Perhaps when you know that the song will be featuring Aishwarya Rai, it is easier to pen down words that mean the world in love and the bonus here is that she features with her real life hubby Abhishek Bachchan. Sung by the maestro A. R. Rahman himself, this song always strikes a chord with us.

10. Iktara: Wake Up Sid

Listen to the mesmerizing song of Kavita Seth with music that stays forever. Wake Up Sid was a simple story and hence touched all of our hearts. A graceful Konkona and an effervescent Ranbir form a lovely couple.

11. Ishaqzaade: Ishaqzaade

A couple from different religious background comes to term with each other after few fights and fall in love with each other to such heights that they sacrifice their lives. Pretty Parineeti and the rugged Arjun Kapoor made the movie watching experience completely marvelous.

12. Main tainu samjhawan ki: Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya

This song explains the essence of a relationship: How do I explain to you what do you mean to me! Beautiful.

13. Zehnaseeb: Hasee toh Phasee

A nerd and a messed up guy: Perfect! The movie teaches us how important it is to be with someone you feel comfortable with and loved with. Not with someone whom you have to please constantly.

14. Kuch kuch hota hai: K2H2

And here’s the baap of all the love songs! Haaaaye!

Now tell us, when we have such songs that make you want to fall in love, how they could be stopped from playing in mind when love really happens! <3
