What exactly is stress?

 

Stress is a normal response to actions that make you feel helpless or upset your balance in some way. 

Have it become a nightmare for you? Have little happenings see you on an emotional ride and you lose control? Started hating your surroundings, your job and your life already? Then perhaps it’s time you took some measures to eliminate the causes and live a better life.  Here we are listing few very simple yet effective procedures that shall help you overcome your mental tensions.

When was the last time you touched your guitar, danced, read, sang, painted or even collected those coins or stamps? Yes, develop your hobbies. Give yourself sometime which helps you connect to your innovative and creative side. 

Walk

Walk

Even if you are too tired to even walk a step, do go for a stroll. Walking helps elevate your moods. If possible, walk on grass barefoot. Studies have shown that such walks help calming down and are good for people suffering with diabetes.

Listen to music

Listen to music

Whatever be your taste, listen to the kind of music that you like at least for half an hour everyday. Music soothes like your mind like nothing else and the rhythm works on your body too.

Play with children

Play with children

Engage yourself with children. Their innocence, little talks, simple logics, charms, addictive laughs, catching creativity and a totally naïve outlook towards life help you forget all your worries and relax.

Once in a while, take out time for your much needed vacation. A wise man has said, “Get lost in the nature to find yourself” and we, are totally on his side.

Connect

God, the supreme power or whoever may be your idol, talk to them. Pray, thank and be happy that you have another day to live. Keep up the positivity in life.

Try to make new friends. They give new approach and direction to your life. Also, mingle with people who are optimists and believe in themselves. Lessen your communication with those who only bring the negative in life or try changing them as well.

Parents, spouse, siblings, friends, children- whoever you are comfortable with, keep sharing the incidents in life. Lower your burden by talking to others. This also helps in taking some difficult decisions at times and the consent of your close ones can really matter. If you are secretive types, then you can always share with your diary or even wordpad. Just let that lumber down!
