Wedding bells? Fear nothing!

As soon as the wedding season nears, everyone goes crazy. You may ask why everyone. Valid question.
Well, because someone or the other gets married. You, your daughter, your son, your sibling, your friend, your cousin, your niece, your nephew, your colleague, your batchmate, your fb friend or dear God knows who! But it is for real.
There are brides and then there are bangles, red color splurged everywhere, sindoor, lehengas, chunnis, sarees, salwar kameez, churidaar kurta, Pakistan styled kurtas, range of footwear, make up, so much of jewellery and all the glitter and shimmer. And did I mention months of endless trips to the market?
Well, for the groom's side, this is limited to moms, chachis, mamis, mausis and so on. The groom can start his shopping just 5 days prior to the wedding and still rule like a rockstar! Yo!

While we give you petty notes on how you can plan things in advance to prevent the last minute crappy mess, make sure you follow them too like a pro!

1. The 'D' date:

1. The 'D' date:

Decide the date. Asap. No delay. Force your partner and your parents to pick the date so that the first process starts. You do remember that the Indian trains are always full and the reservations begin 4 months prior right? And the airways aren't the good people. They charge a bomb. So, prevent the cribbing of your guests and give them a chance to plan ahead.

2. List:

2. List:

List everything and anything that comes to your mind. Also list the probable shops and places where you can get the stuff easily and does not involve too much of roaming around. Save your energy girl and boy!

3. Call:

3. Call:

Call up your friends and errr.. relatives and inquire about the latest trends.
P.S.: Stay close to your recently married friends and stalk them once in a while on facebook and whatsapp. Shhh!

4. Search online:

4. Search online:

Decide what you want to wear and let the online market help you out. See for lehengas and sarees and jewellery. You need not buy from there but it certainly helps to come to take a decision.

5. Keep your partner in the loop:

5. Keep your partner in the loop:

Even if he seems disinterested, keep him in the loop. Talk to him about what your plans are and how you are going about it. He might also take up a clue or two. And who knows, you might end up being that matching couple about whom the Aunties go all "Awwwww... "

So for now, take out you pen and paper and get down to work. Till then, keep listing honey!
