Are you making or breaking your children?

Team WOWRAL Mar 15, 2016

How often do you hear or say that..

my children do not listen..

my child is messy..

I am afraid he is becoming arrogant..

she does not share and becomes violent..

cried all the time and is sad..

he might become a loner if this continues..

my children throw tantrums all the time, every where..

Before you think of more sentences which we know are above hundreds in number, have you ever wondered why is this so? Why does your child behave in a particular manner which is quite irritating whereas you as a child were way too better? Our elder generations had a number of children in each family and yet there were no complications. No one ever heard about counselling in kids whereas most of the parents nowadays think of having one done.

But have you ever taken into account our behavior? Haven't we changed? Our habits with regards to everything have been modified at large.

Our laptops and phones are our work, burgers and pizzas our food and 4-5 hours of sleep our rest and all of this forms our day. That is it.. What will our children learn? We shout on the top of our voices, have no patience and want everything on the tip of our fingers. Now can you relate the behaviour?

You might say that this lifestyle demands this kind of culture. Yes it does, but then why do you assume that your children will very normally glide into this atmosphere while the natural state of humans is to be joyous.

We cannot change things but yes, we, at Wowral can help you remind of simple things we all have done and had as children. Take your kids away from tabs, phones and laptops and place them in the hands of nature.

1. Make them helpful

1. Make them helpful

Explain to them the importance of help in life and why it is essential to be helpful in nature. Make them sympathetic towards the elderly in not only in your family but everywhere.

2. Families- the bond that never ceases.

A family is far more precious than we all think and imagine. It is the core of our individuality.

3. Teach them to plant

3. Teach them to plant

Help them learn the way to plant saplings. Watch them learn how the sapling grows into a full plant bearing beautiful leaves, flowers and fruits. Ask them to water it and be patient. This will take some time but teach them a lot about the fruit of labour and patience.

4. Make them read

4. Make them read

Where have all the stories, the fairy tales, the Panchtantra, the Jataka tales gone? Never replace books with anything. Ever. They teach us the meaning of life.

5. A pet, playground and some fun!

Pets help them love. Playing helps them grow. Need more reasons?

6. Adventure joys!

6. Adventure joys!

Bring them close to nature by sending them off to camping, hiking, trekking, etc activities with their friends or tag along. They need to be familiar with the outside world.

7. Pick up a hobby

If there is time to play, there should and must be a time to study and understand concepts.

10. Most important of all- the sleep!

10. Most important of all- the sleep!

Make your child retire early to bed. The body grows, heals and repair itself during the sleep. So why not make full use of it?

11. Benefits of eating healthy.

Make charts. Mention the nutrients and the food in which they are found.

Also list the consequences of eating in too little or too large amounts of the same.

Do we need to elaborate?

P.S.: Start using these in your conversations with your kids as well.

13. Smile and be happy

Teach your child to be happy for all the little things that happen in life and be stress free as they are. Very helpful indeed!

14. Last but not the least, teach them unity!

14. Last but not the least, teach them unity!

Unity is everything. They need to know what makes unity so important and that everyone has a role to play in it. Take example of any sport or dance formation and show them that nothing meaningful comes out of the unity fails.

Children are mere reflection of what they see and are taught. Make sure that the reflection smiles back at you and does not laugh at you.

Be careful for you raise the citizens of tomorrow.
